I've been asked by a group of, how shall I put it, "retired" people, to suggest someone who could entertain them at their party to be held at the beginning of December in Folkestone. They want someone who can play a keyboard and sing songs from the 50's onwards. It's a paid job. Any ideas?

Have you tried Richard Ginn AKA Buddy G??

How about Grahame Mart, former Dover cricket player. Great singer of 50's and 60's songs. Elvis, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Glen Campbell etc. and a few jokes thrown in.

Paul Quinn is good too, although he doesn't play any instruments but he has a great voice.
Buddy is great - he sang at my 60th. in Blakes.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. I did suggest Richard Ginn at the outset but was told that perhaps he was too "modern". As Alec suggests someone along the lines of Dean Martin etc might be appropriate. Anyone got any contact details for Graham Mart?

Terry - I have a client who runs a music school in Canterbury and he has available a wide range of performers, indeed might even do it himself as I have seen him perform varied stuff like swing, 40's and classical pieces. Let me know if you still don't have anyone and want his contact details.
