How many do you actually know Jan?
I know several and have known a lot more over the last 30 odd years. You seem to take your knowledge of them from the media and tar them all with the same brush and automatically assign the worse to them. That is as wrong as it would be for me to tar all the Irish as being thick or women to be dumb blondes.
Ian - backbench MPs are not in a position of power as such, only the minority that get appointed Ministers are. Just because there may be 'lures' does not automatically mean they exploit them. Many do, yes, there are all types in parliament.

I do think your correct on MP'S ingeneral although MP'S pay is to high, and we need to find a way to stop the LEGAL abuse

I met several when my in-laws lived in Chelsea and some came to the pub we ran, what has that got to do with it. We are discussing their handouts not their personalities, I have my opinion that is all.

Over past 20/30 years like yourself and Barryw i have met a large number, not sure if that matters or not.
I do feel it important to not just look at MP's golden hanshakes, but also there pay, and what they cn/cant claim for.
if we want more voter participation that is.

this expenses row continues, rightly so.
read yesterday about one m.p. putting in claims of 4 pence, 8 pence and 12 pence for car use.
he must have carried a tape measure to see how far he had travelled, one of the new intake.
Is wondering is it just our Mps that abuse the system or is it all over the world are Mps or people of simmilar position doing the same ?
