I suspect this man protests too much, a pity there is no photograph of his front garden in the article.

I can tell you Howard a tip .At last someone has listened and taken action.I think a few more will follow .Not fair on the residents who keep their gardens tidy.

I rather expected that Sue as he didn't deny his own front garden was a state. Furthermore he didn't say that he had reported the mess on the vacant land. Where I live Sir Peter Wallace, Keef, myself and possibly others report fly tipping as soon as we see it and it is removed within 48 hours. You say correctly that is unfair on the majority of residents who keep their front tidy but do they actually report instances or simply expect waste services at DDC to have a crystal ball telling them where rubbish has been dumped?

Having seen the state of his garden over the years I don't suppose he would have noticed it, his and one opposite make that end of coombe valley, look like a fly tip site so hardly surprising others would follow suit.

Isn't that the man who buried his wife in his garden? Or didn't that happen in the end?

Have a vague recollection of this, was it the same chap that buried his wife face down with her bottom breaking the surface because he needed somewhere to park his bicycle?

Keith some of these are gardens .Just full of rubbish. If they are council tenants if memory serves me correctly their is a clause in the tenancy agreement so action can be taken .

The problem seems to be that the majority of landlords, council and private, could not care less what the gardens are like at their properties. There is no reason the council could not include or even enforce basic garden maintenance like grass cutting and hedge trimming at an extra cost to the tenant if required.

There are so many restrictions now going to a dump it leaves the common man what to do? Main factor is has fly tipping increased in recent years and why. You are getting find for dropping things now in street so common man has not got it too good and were all not perfect. Not that I agree with flytipping, but dont agree with restrictions on how to get rid of useless junk. There is no rag and bone man which was a help many years ago..so where do we go with it all ??

I have read that that rubbish in the picture has been cleared/collected from the area of a footpath that goes over the banks towards the schools, if true the council should definitely remove it.
