4 of our banners advertising the market have been sabotaged, the cable ties cut and the banners removed.
Who are these people?

Use the BIG SCREEN to advertise and approach DDC re their advertising boards.

Lesley, advertising on the big screen is not allowed.
What do you mean by DDC boards?

The theft of these banners is one subject that the local papers should pick up on.
I assume Lesley is thinking of the boards like the one outside the Town Hall. How about local parish notice boards if the various Parish Councils will let you, it would almost certainly entice those into the Town from the local villages.

lesley is refering to the boards in stembrook car park, outside the gateway centre and a few other sites in the town centre.
if my memory serves me correct - outside burtons, k college hairdressers and hot dog bobby's.
david
the banner is still up outside st edmund's chapel.

Do you mean the decaux boards Howard?
We put 6 up and 4 have been taken down, I won't reveal where they are in case the saboteur looks in here

that's right david, some have commercial ads on one side and ddc events on the other.
when you say railings - do you mean ones against the roadside?
if so i think they belong to the highways agency, kent highways or similar therefore permission to hang things on there would need to be obtained.
cannot see it as the work of vandals, not enough excitement or broken glass for them.

According to DTC Highways will approach people and ask them to be removed.
The decaux boards are booked well in advance and last for a month, pretty expensive too. Still a month is better than the two days of banners we got.

Quite large waterproof sheets, I would imagine they would keep tarmac etc covered in the back of flat back vans

We've had notification that Kent Highways removed them.
OK rules are rules but surely the function of KCC is to encourage enterprise not act as a deterrent.
Ho hum, I'll just have to get permission elsewhere and find something else to rant about
What do you know of Baldini Martin?

David.
Similar happened to us at EKR. one member paid a lot out of his own pocket to put up a sign on private land with permission from the owner and Kent Highways went onto his land and removed it without permission because we did not ask them for permission.
