As I've said before IF you were looking to open up an airport for freight you would not chose a site with two lane access (M2) to the rest of the country and a rail track profile limiting freight rolling stock size.
In spite of the pandemic in November, East Midlands Airport (EMA) processed its highest number of goods in a month at 41,613 tonnes, a 26.4% increase on last year.
Meanwhile, the nearby East Midlands Gateway hub, which opened in January 2020, has so far transported 30,000 containers by rail - more than expected.
Manston is a non starter.
