Labour Council Leader Bob Hart said - and I quote:
"Both people under the flight path and elsewhere in the isle are affected by employment issues. But only people under the flight path are affected by environmental issues as well, so their comments should be given more weight."

So, it's official, there's only 2 people affected by night flights. (Yes I know it has been taken out of context, but they were his words).

The more flights there are, the more business there'll be: historic sites and tourist attractions (those in Dover too); Hotels and guest houses (those in Dover too); taxi companies (those in Dover too); ferries (those in Dover too) all sorts of businesses will benefit (those in Dover too) and of course all these benefits will help with employment too.

Part of the reason (most of it) that FlyBe didn't succeed was because the routes chosen - O.K. it may have been a problem with slots, but I doubt it that applies in every case.
The argument about travelling on to Gatwick and/or Heathrow is not valid as Manston is so much smaller and so much less hassle than those two.
