Canterbury Crown Court heard Darius Hetea, 25, played a role in the conspiracy by driving four Pakistani men from London to a layby near Maidstone, Kent, where they were transferred into the back of a waiting lorry.
The lorry - bound for France - continued to the port of Dover where it was stopped by police who arrested the driver and detained nine Pakistani men, all found to be illegal immigrants.
