I saw a low-flying plane this afternoon, crossing the Maxton area from the sea direction, and it appeared to be grey with no markings.

No, Tom. It was a plane, and it was flying towards Buckland hospital, just as Ron described, but this afternoon.

I do not doubt you Alex, nor Ron. How can there be a plane without markings? [UFO?]

Was the pilot hanging out of the window calling "Ou est Libya?"

it seemed to be a propellor plane, but I could not hear the engine sound, even though it was flying low. I was in the town centre, so the distance was not far.
I was surprised that it flew so low.

Are you suggesting that the mystery plane is something to do with the elusive Mr Farage, Paul?!?!?

Based on Martin's post on the front page I suspect it might be a reconnaissance plane going ahead of the Spirit of Safety. (See Scotchie's thread Goodyear Blimp).
