22:1974744Ray, you say:-
'They have to be produced by a Certificate Provider, usually a solicitor who has been specifically trained and registered to provide this service, so as far as I know it is not possible to do it yourself.'
I have just been examining both of the Registered Powers of Attorney for my mother. No solicitor was used for either. There was very little 'work' involved in producing them. There are no doubt many who would be happier to end up with the same document having paid a solicitor what would appear to be a minimum of £130/document. I have better things to do with my money.

22:3374747Bob, apologies you are right, looking at the detail it doesn't have to be a solicitor who is the certificate provider, but having been through it I'm happy to have paid the money and got professional advice, too many pitfalls for my liking.

19:4874892Indeed - I would seriously encourage everyone to do it. I stand happily corrected about EPOA. It was clumsy and unhelpful under the wrong circs - used wisely the new one sounds like an improvement.
