As he was caught red-handed he could plead 'insanitary' and get off.

Shocked to hear this on the news earlier today, one could say he had a moment of madness but apparently he done it five or six times on different days so I guess that theory is gone out the window. Premeditated then, hope he seeks the help he so obviously needs right now.

that is ok so long as the help he is looking for is not someone to distract the security guards.

But because he is well off and a celebutard he deserves our sympathy because he must have some deep seated psychological problem
Or alternatively we can see him for what he is a common or garden shoplifter, who deserves the same treatment under the law as any other person caught doing the same thing.
Oh and he deserves to be done for the crime of his choice of knitwear...

Have to say he has never been one of my favourite chefs, but i guess even he is not above the law being caught red handed.

He is not particularly popular with the other sleb chefs already, they regard him as somewhat arrogant and rude.

Peter, never met him but that was how I always imagined him to be and I am not even a celebrity chef just an ordinary old cook.

When I first read your post Jan - the last word, I thought it had an "r" in it - sorry (made me laugh though).
He clearly has a serious problem and needs help.
Roger
He knew what he was doing was wrong no way around it , to many so called stars think they above law and expect extras with no cost from movie stars to footballers, even Richard madeley got done for it years ago no excuses and they should be made an example of.

Just to concur with post no 5 from Ross...Tesco clearly saw this guy shoplifting 5 times and let him get away with it, probably figuring that the publicity wouldnt be worth it. If it was me or you they would not have waited for the fifth offence before acting. Then we get the bleating from the perpetrator about how he has let everyone down...who would listen to all that oul standard baloney if it was you or me. Nobody. The law should be the same for all, but we know thats not the case in many instances.
I met the guy once in my previous life..twas at the Motor Show Earls Court as I remember.

But, but, but. Is it not (yea verily) writ upon the FRONTPAGE that...
Ye who sneaketh out and off neglecting to pay shall be runeth down and cuffed, brought back to the manger of your malfeasance and there made to cough-up, yea and more. To wit, a small sum to a charity of the wronged party's choosing?
And so it is written that which begins and carries on,course after course exceeding savoury shall endeth sweetly? (or cheesy)
