21:0780185their promotion team must be clueless not to note that this time of year is about children.
parents will be loathe to take their offspring into their emporiums.

21:0880186Indeed Howard. And if the intention is to be provocative it is childish.

21:2080190In the Middle Ages pigeon pie was a common venison. Ten pigeons could be purchased for a penny.

21:3180191Howard,
"Don't be daft" What is the difference between reindeer meat and beef?? none at all. Dont get tied up in all that emotional hog wash about Bamby. What do you suppose Santa eats?? Pork sausages ?? I doubt it.

22:1480202Yes, yes and yes again.
I am a carnivore, a meal is simply not a meal if there is no meat...
I get sick to death of the excessive sentimentaliasm about animals, the bloomin' Beatrix Potter syndrome is what I blame.
As for the so called 'Animal Rights' brigade, even the expression 'animal rights' is pathetic - how on earth can an animal have rights when they cannot have duties.... Animal welfare, yes, I believe in that, but rights for animals, utterly moronic concept.

22:1980203The word 'rights' somehow seems more emotive than 'responsibilities' and I suppose that is why it is over-used.

22:2280205Absolutely spot on Barry we are carnivores by nature, we weren't meant to eat a diet of lettuce leaves and nuts. You can't beat a nice beef sarnie with horseradish or mustard, think i'll go and get myself one, made me feel hungry.

22:3180207Prefer a bacon sarnie myself, dripping with butter Dave - how someone can live without a bacon sarnie every now and then is just unimaginable.

22:3780208you chaps seem to be missing the point here, even a carnivore like me can see the problem.

22:4480211A problem - eating venison, reindeer steaks and pheasant - why?
Nothing wrong with any of that, wonderful tasty and nutricious. No different to eating pork, beef or lamb. Actually no, its better than that. These are the ultimate in free range produce and will have had better lives farm than bread meat animals.
If someone has a problem with it them the problem is their own. They should do a reality check and maybe get a life.

22:4680212Barry, I think the problem has to do with Father Christmas riding in a one-horse open slay, or sleigh.

22:5280215Actually chaps we are omnivores not carnivores
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omnivore
We actually do not need to eat meat at all, but if you must you really only should eat it a maximum of twice a week plus fish once or twice.
I became a vegetarian because the person I moved in with was one and I really couldn't be bothered to cook two different meals, that was over 20 years ago and to be honest I have been so much more healthy since I stopped eating meat.
However each to their own preference, provided food animals are treated well then knock yourself out
