Had the usual AA Fuel Price Report through and here it is below..
but it doesnt seem to tally with our own prices locally which seem to have a life of their own. Interesting yesterday the seafront garages beat TESCO to the pricing..which goes against the national grain as supermarket prices tend to be the lowest. But not here in Dover at least not at the moment.
Tesco is currently 136.9 at my last checking
the BP Garages along the main road are 134.9
Traditionally the seafront garages are a tad higher to catch the tourist market passing through, so the current price must be an off season marketing drive.
But now..Here is the AA REPORT.
FUEL PRICE REPORT NOVEMBER 2012
Petrol prices have fallen by less than 4p a litre despite a 10p drop in wholesale prices - almost exactly mirroring
what happened six months ago. The average pump price of diesel has fallen, but only by 40% of the fall in
wholesale value. Oil: $109
Unleaded prices have fallen by 3.8ppl from138.9ppl to 135.1ppl. Diesel prices have fallen by 1.8ppl from143.7ppl
to 141.9ppl. The price difference between unleaded and diesel has risen to 6.8ppl.
The South East recorded the highest price for unleaded at135.7ppl. Yorkshire and Humberside recorded the
lowest price for unleaded at 134.3ppl. Northern Ireland recorded the highest diesel price at 142.6ppl.
Yorkshire and Humberside has the cheapest diesel at 141.0ppl.
Supermarket prices for unleaded fell by 3.5ppl to 133.3ppl. The gap between supermarket prices and the UK
average for unleaded has fallen to 2.1ppl.
The UK has the seventh highest petrol price in Europe and the second highest diesel price.
END
It comes with charts but they dont reproduce.
Note the similarity to the household Gas situation..the fall in wholesale prices dont come through in total to the customer.

I'm hoping our petrol will last until we go to Canterbury on Sunday.
Reminds me of the excuse a lady gave for speeding. She said she was trying to get to the filling station quickly before the petrol ran out. Boom Boom.

Rather BTW...
"Urgent. WOMEN, beat huge car insurance hikes
European ruling means many, especially younger women, may see renewals hiked by £100s or £1,000s
By 21 Dec, insurers must comply with a European rule banning gender to set prices, so similar men and women will pay the same. Young men, renew after 21 Dec if poss - if not, include AA, Halifax & Lloyds who've already changed prices."

Yes I can still report as of early this morning Tescos was still 136.9, just wondering what prices will go up when the shell garage at the Duke of Yorks reopens, having said that am surprised that the BP garage along snargate street was busy but the one further down near the sports centre was not, so I know where I will be going this week and no queuing.

The newly revamped/rebuilt garage at the Duke of York roundabout has opened up again., has been closed for a considerable time during the work..but is charging 137.9 per litre. That's the highest around. In order to attract a new wave of customers for their revamped business they should have charged less...at least for a while. Tesco still at 136.9 a litre. The garage at the Whitfield roundabout is charging 135.9 a litre...It is unusual to see Tesco beaten on price re petrol.
But nearer the seafront the BP garages are still winning the local price war at a very good 134.9
