In part you are right, beware the professional outfit, being involved with this over the last 2 yrs, The pro's ,stand out and although their cause is worthy, they are very greedy and beginning to expose themselves.
However, the system works if you take enough supporters with you, or not. Because everyone has to vote and give at least 1 point, if they don't vote, then that cause is given 5 points. If you only take 5 people and another takes 10, they will obviously give 5 points to themselves but if they like yours then that's 15 people voting for you. If it's a good cause people will vote for it.
