There is no chance that Reg will post on the latest figures:
Those in employment is UP - to 29.23 million this year.
While those unemployed is down by 45,000 to 2.63m
Other good news: exports are up £50bn.
More needs to be done and there is no room for complacency specially as the Eurozone problems rumble on. More effort needed on cutting public spending and getting rid of the deficit...

What wondrous statistics Barry. Lots and lots of room for the 250,000 moving to unemployment benefit from DLA.
Exports up? Any meat for these bones?
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Bet the unemployment figures go up again when the school leavers try to get a job plus how many of those who have got a job are seasonal so it might be better to wait until Autumn before gloating.

makes a nice change to hear some good news on the jobs front although a cobbled together minister said earlier that we shouldn't read too much into the latest figures.

When 45,000 dads/mums come home and tell their families ``I`ve got a job`` from experience the home is a happy
place.
But Tom is again correct DVA changing to PIP will add to the numbers of homes that will experience that the awful
feeling of hard times.
And when the 90% of cuts still to hit, add thousands to the employment figures plus the misery of the i.d.s and welfare
reforms, the unemployment figures will sadly rise again to an obscene level...........Enjoy your `day`.

What a pity that some people cannot just acknowledge the good news for a change in such difficult circumstances.

Yes it is good news but they are part time jobs when so many want a full time job.
I also had some unexpected good news today I have a fair sized tax refund due, miracles do happen after all.
