Last Days of Summer
- 31 August 2011 08:39123920Following on from PaulB's excellent photo and editorial on the front page I have nicked his idea and thought I'd start this thread for the forums excellent photographers to post their photos of our very brief encounter with the sun that the government laughingly labels British Summer Time.
Here are a couple of photos taken yesterday on a visit to St Brelades Bay with my sister and her daughter,who were over from rainy Stockport.

- 31 August 2011 16:13123996Here we are, a summery picture of that little hidden away nook at St Margarets. Taken a few weeks ago. Didnt Ian Fleming live here, the creator of James Bond. So I heard tell anyway. Looks great on a summers day but imagine it in the dead of winter in a howling gale, with the raging surf n spray thundering onto your verandah..
The picture here was taken at low tide.

Weathermen have dashed hopes that the gloom of the last few months will be relieved by an Indian summer.
They warned that autumn's first storm will arrive next week. It is likely to be followed by floods and tornadoes in October, while winter's Big Freeze could start in November.

So there you have it. It's official summer has ended.
