There was a post a while back over late night noise at the venue and general anti social behaviour late at night. Read earlier on social media that the problem has not been resolved. Does anyone else know any more?

Although I have not been contacted by any complainants direct was reported to me by fellow councillor after seeing problem on social media. Been in touch with DDC and seems action has been taken but problem has persisted, believe prosecution is in hand. Situation being checked out with DDC tomorrow. Silly for perpetrator to,ignore warnings that have been issued as any further action could result in equipment being seized which would have thought would be a costly business.

I have read the comments on Facebook and the local residents seem to be suffering a lot of noise from the Kings Hall. I have copied and pasted Pam's reply so those involved know what is happening.
Pam so you know what people saying, here are a few of the many comments on there starting with the opening one........
"Just been told by the doorman at the kings hall that apparently they have a license to play their music up to 110 decibels until 1.30 in the morning? So are the council lying when they tell me 11.30? Another night of not getting to sleep til stupid o clock. Grrr"
"That's what they told me but doorman said when environmental officers checked his paperwork it says 1.30. This has been every weekend since good Friday and last friday they finished at 3.45 in the morning but still no one stops them"
"My friend lives along from the Kings hall... Her children can't sleep at night because of shouting screaming loud music and people having noisy sex by the side entrance!! I hope something is being done and the council and police pay attention"
"I wouldn't be as bad if they had abit of respect they sit on the wall at the bk of the hall swearing shouting abusing people that walk past I am actually surprised there's not been a massive brawl "
" This is all positive. It's very distressing to the residents and very frustrating when nobody seems able to actually make them stop when they are breaking the law. I thank everyone who is helping us with this issue "

Thanks Jan for forwarding this information. Now had chance to speak to colleague who has been following up,on issue. Is As said previously actively being pursued, is considered priority to resolve, so can re-assure complainants that is being taken seriously. info re licence allowing music till 1.30 a.m. Unlikely to be correct.
My own knowledge of licensing is that this sort of license would only be allowed as one offs for private party not all,the time.

It seems I have done the wrong thing by informing Pam about the complaints just had the following message...."I can tell you that a lot of members are troubled by your posts on the forum and your apparent closeness to Pam Brivio on there"..........so I had better keep quiet in the future.

Have removed my previous posting Jan as I realise from the other postings that the noise and the subsequent intimidation you have been subjected to, is grossly out of order. Not a joking matter!:
I hope that the necessary action to resolve the matter will be taken seriously by the relevant authorities.

I can see nothing wrong in my being told if there is a problem in the ward I represent; how am I going to help if not given information? Am not a min reader!
Will continue to,liaise with DDC (emailed earlier today and plan to try to visit King's Hall) over the problem as I would be expected to do, to ensure appropriate action being taken.

Keep up the good work Pam, it seems as though there is still a lot of sour grapes out there.

Someone is getting heavy trying to suppress complaints from long suffering residents. If i was in their place I would call the police firstly and if the problem persists report it to one of my district councillors. There is no way that people should have to put up with anti social behaviour on a weekly basis.

01303 221888 is the number I have in my phone for late night noise complaints. The service is a joint one between DDC and Shepway. There is a very capable council officer by the name of Peter Davison who looks after such matters.
Jan, keep a stiff upper lip. Don't back down in the face of bullies. Go to the local paper. Name and shame the troublemakers.

Howard, I live next door to the King's Hall and have been the first to complain. I know not what you mean by someone "getting heavy and trying to suppress complaints". I was woken at 01.42 Sunday morning with 100+ people milling about and being involved in several scuffles. All of my neighbours have complained. I don't understand who or why someone would wish to suppress complaints. Perhaps you could email or phone me with details.
I have a copy of the current licence. It states that music and dancing can only be until 23.30 daily and alcohol sales to 23.30 except at weekends when it's 01.00.

Ah! I assume this is Dover For Dovorians then which I am not privy to. I still don't understand who would want to suppress complaints.

Thanks for the info Pam.
What a shame I can not let those I was keeping informed know simply because TC said he will not reinstate me.

The owner should have possibly vetted those who leased the Kings Hall rather than blaming those who complained about the late night noise. If those running the venue had followed their licence laws instead of repeatedly flouting them there would not have been the numerous complaints in the first place.

It does seem odd to insinuate it's the complainants that are at fault and not the nice hardworking chaps I leased it too and because of that I'm going to sell it!
