An old football chum of mine phoned me a month ago.The last time we met was 55 years ago.
We played in the same football team throughout Primary and secondary school until I took the
13 + exam and went to Tech College. We won many cups,he was a class above all other players,
right wing mid field, anywhere.
He played for Dover in 1968 / 69 ? under Terry Addlington ? and scored 8 goals,Billy Swain bought
him from Dartford for £ 1,500.
He is a talent scout for Crystal Palace now and went to Welling FC today to watch two promising
players.
We are hoping to met up for the first time for lunch on Thursday subject to his commitments but
hearing Dover are playing Welling FC next Saturday we are hoping to go to the game depending on
his commitments to Crystal Palace.....hope it all comes off.....small world isn`t it?
His name is Ray Buckley ......anyone remember him ?

Keith, I've read and reread your #14 and have not the slightest clue what the final score was:3:0 up at half time, could have been five or six, might have got 'a' point, different side in the second half, real test next match. But no score.
[Deary me, but if you want facts around here you have to ask Brian. You may never get the facts you were actually looking for, but there will be facts.

And that is not the only thing like that, coming to my mind

At this time.I would think the new boss will not be that happy on the way Dover fell away in the last 45mins,and in the end they were very lucky to walk away with all the points and that is not the first time it has happen. But Dover still march on and upwards, lets hope next Saturday they will play for the full 90 mins,at their very best.To walk away with all the 3points next time out they will need to do just that.

Moving away and not talking about individuals,
todays game showed chris k has a lot to do to gel the side together, or ship out those not wanting to play with passion

Reg
I recall the Terry Adlington days, and Bill Swain, certainly come some way since those days.
Recall the Dover goalkeeper(price)who lived in harold street, quite a star at the time

Thanks Reg.
A good thing for the new man, to get a win in his first game. It'll be a neat trick to attempt change where he sees fit and win again, and keep that up. As I suspect that a string of successes would cheer-up everybody here, I wish him and the team well.

Dover 3-2 Welling, in front of a crowd of 1005. Also puts an end to Welling's 12 match winning streak. A very good day to be a Dover fan.

This was one match I did not want to miss and at the very last min,I had soming come up ,so I missed it,but that was good for Dover they always play well when I am not there ,but I had R/Kent on in the car,so I did know how the match was being played and 1000 there to see it happen, lets hope now we are going to see Dover play the way we know they can and keep in the top six,and you never know it could still happen, if only they had showed this kind of fight over the pass six months they could have been where they should be NO1,but they must be very happy at this time the way it is turning out.
