I agree with both of you, I dislike the practice of being able to post whatever rubbish you like because you are not using your real name.

Stupid idea. The net is place where free thought and expression gives a voice to those who previously were never able to express themselves. Virtually everything Parsons says is the rantings of an angry man who thinks "something must be done".
Ok let's regulate the internet shall we? Let's let government lay down the rules. Great idea Tony.
He goes on to talk about "My mate Piers Morgan". If there was one person in the world who I wouldn't admit being friends with it is the odious Peirs Morgan. He trolls the airwaves on his talk show in America pushing his lefto-liberal nonsense on a captive audience to such a degree it makes me feel rather bilious just watching. Let's put to one side his time as editor of the Mirror.
Like the small minded person he is Parsons goes on to say:
"Sorry - the anonymity of one Syrian rebel or CIA mole is not worth the life of one vulnerable teenager."
What an utter moron.

you're muddying the waters here philip, freedom of expression goes hand in hand with responsibility.
why should gutless people get away with lambasting others whilst hiding behind a pseudonym?

For a change I find myself siding with Philip on this one.
It seems to me that Parsons, a man not above lambasting in colourful language his detractors, is having a rant because he can. He needs to devote his energy to teaching his daughter how to use the net responsibly and how to deal with the idiots, or is he too much of a reactionary old idiot to see this.
The answer to the idiots is not more red tape, more legislation, more control in the hands of politicians or unelected quangos, it is for parents to teach their kids how to use the net safely and how to deal with the fools.

yes reg that's correct
everyone knows who you and I are
others choose to hide
because of the era we are in we need to look at how to make such sites to act in a responsible manner
that's nothing worse than a young life lost to bring you round to this way of thinking

I agree with Ross about parents taking more responsibility but the troll problem is not just about children because adults also get really nasty posts.

I have had plenty of abuse on Facebook over the past year from a former member that seems to have problems, until now the attacks on me and a couple of others have been amusing but today it went too far as myself and one other were accused of being "bombers". All sorts of people use social media including the security services so this time i have had to report the post.

I never go on any of them. What I do not know is the best way out of it, I do not know if anyone writes about me nor do I care,

Here is the latest one:-
Was the English Church the target of genocidal attacks such as the attacks that struck Dresden in 1945 to force Germany into submission?
I was publicly called an insult to Britain by Howard Mcsweeney because I went to the English Church, and Neil Wiggins tried to wipe out the English Church, claiming it does not exist and that Mrs. Windsor is the boss of the Church in England.
Then Italians came along shouting at me that they considered me an atheist.
The genocidal attacks on the English Church had the purpose of wiping out our Church and forcing England to surrender to foreign invasion.
They thought that England would surrender to foreign invasion.
The experience of using genocidal attacks against Germany to destroy the will of the German People did not work against the English Church. I refused to surrender to Mrs. Windsor and to the Italians.
So Bomber Howard and Neil Wiggins did not succeed.
The English Church fought back for sheer survival of its own self, for England.
The English Church will not fall ever.
The English Church will never surrender.
