14:2384754thought i would google my name and see what came up.
all the usual references to the forum, then suddenly "howard mcsweeney obituary".
funny i thought, don't feel that unwell, turned out to be an american chap that died during the summer at the ripe old age of 95.
went to university, served in the second world war, seemed to be involved in allsorts.
wondered whether he was jewish because of howard or catholic because of mcsweeney.
turned out to be a presbyterian.
never thought there would be anyone else with my name.

14:3984759I thought I would do the same and there is an obituary notice for some-one with my name but my name-sake was not as interesting as yours Howard.
This could turn into an interesting thread if other members do the same.

Nice!

16:4284769Well.....
I am a Brady Bunch actor and comedian
A taxidermist in Cannock
A 23 year old (I wish) studying economics in Cardiff
and, I am accused in Brisbane of a bomb hoax.
all on the front page - what an eventful life.
I wonder what you get when you combine all that.
A funny young man stuffing the Labour Government's economic record and putting a bomb under Gordon Brown's reputation....
Sounds about right.

you jan and jenni have got fairly standard names, there will be thousands thrown out.
i think that it has to be an unusual name that will bring up the interesting stuff.
offhand i can only think of keith sansum out of our members having a name out of the ordinary(the surname that is).

17:0184775No change there then Howard! What school was that, I've never met myself?
I just bit the bullet and googled myself again (distraction activity from some unappealing jobs I should be doing online) and yippeee!!!! my comment about the white cliffs of Sussex has got me into the Fortean Times.

17:1684777Howard, he's probably a distant relative, the spelling gets corrupted a lot, even on my Grandad's war medals. There's a lot of us around Leicester.
Checked a bit further and my most embarrassing ones have gone, but there's an astrophysicist with my name.

17:4084780aww you see Howard I put in my middle name as well, and it only chucked out 117 results....
so i am a lot more individual than we all thought.. and half of those results were actually me!!
And most of them in Hampshire which is the family name is from, even Jennifer Sutton Photography.. quite excited about that one.. and then remembered .. its not me!!

18:3384785hadn't realised that sutton was a predominantly hampshire name, what with newsam being mainly leicestershire it adds a new dimension to local history.
i suppose that barry's surname will be traced back to one of those welsh villages that when pronounced ends up with someone being sprayed with spit?
a name i have spotted since i have moved here that seems to crop up a lot is "knott" as in the famous kent and england cricketer.
never seen it anywhere other than here.

22:0184866I see my namesake is an actor who was taken ill last June for an urgent operation for an abscess in the stomach.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
