The key issue, indeed the point in question, is whether there is a trend of over optimistic expectation management. Whatever semantic issues you might care to pick on, they haven't really 'attracted' or 'provided' very much thus far, have they?

My point was how and when did 'WE' settle for anything, as for DHB and EKHUFT we have zero say as to what they do, and as for DDC (where we do have a say) with the shower of s**t that steps up at election time its hardly surprising the same ones get in over and over again. Rather than constantly complain at our lot, if people want change they need to step up, not expect someone else to.

Agreed, but skills should be a prerequisite for election. If the position of Cllr were a properly paid role then perhaps there would be a greater interest. I don’t know if Cllrs are obliged to undertake training but again it should be expected. At Parish council level Cllrs are encouraged to attend training courses but many don’t participate.
