i wonder what the general view in the country is because i think our forum is pretty much a cross section of different attitudes.
if so then dave and co have dropped themselves right in it again at a time when they need some positive feedback from the public.

i.d.s reforms come under pressure once again as the remaining 90% of cuts begin to come into force.Blind and partially blind
who currently receive disability living allowance ( DLA ) stand to lose £ 120 per week when personal independence payment
( PIP ) is applied in April.
Clegg approves the government plans but majority of Lib/Dems plan a revolt to achieve yet another `U` turn.
The concentric circles generated by all those U turns must make the condems dizzy!

There is such a simple remedy to save money with some of the 'fraudulent' claims, tough reassessment every few months unless there is an ongoing condition that will never improve.

I do wonder quite why it should come to, "tough reassessment". Surely if somebody is getting better, this is a good thing.
There must be something in us that automatically accepts that there is some palpable truth in every Government Policy Initiative, but sometimes 'balls' is balls.
This particular shift from DLA to PIP is pure bean-counting. It has no basis in health improvement, it is a simple across the board cut to benefit.
Now, if rents/rates/retail prices, the general cost of living, has gone down markedly...That might be a reason to reassess benefits and reassess the minimum wage too and much else. Better to concentrate, perhaps, on the notion that weighing this pig will ensure that it is leaner and fitter?
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

I said tough reassessment to catch those that are swinging the lead and still claiming the benefit thus making it harder for the genuine claimant to get what they need. For some the tick box approach is not adequate, so hopefully those that are thinking of making a fraudulent claim are more likely to stop if they know this is likely to happen, the genuine claimant would understand and continue to get their benefit.

regular re-assessments would cost a lot of money and the aim of the exercise is to save money.
usually the lead swingers are grassed up by neighbours or people using the same gymnasium.
additionally the more dumb ones post pictures on facebook of themselves climbing the matterhorn despite being bed ridden.

Yes Keith agreed.
But not just the benefit sysytem, the same determination must be put to stopping the tax system abuse as well.
