I didn't mean to turn this into a political matter, just asked Bern why the reference to making her a socialist and Marek advising what being a socialist means.
In that interpretation, I'm a Socialist too.
I have never read anywhere or thought that being a Conservative meant you can't care about your fellow man or those "worse off than yourself".
I'm happy to care about anyone, where ever they come from and where ever they are, if they are decent people, but I don't have anytime for lazy, useless, benefit cheats or people who play the benefits system.

as you know on your last comment, nor do I
so its not a tory thing
I'v said on here before Frank Field a labour MP wanted to make drastic chnges to the benefits system but they were rejected.
i'm afraid I can't see any national party tackling this one.

You may well be right Keith - it would take someone with the balls of Maggie to do it.
So many billions are wasted on cheating the system and people work so hard on doing just that.
But we must also (I know you agree on this) help, guide and support those in genuine need.

Whilst we need to give a helping hand up, that does not stop us looking seriously at the benefits system,
and although Barryw and yourself are probably of a stronger opinion of how to deal with it, I'm not a million miles away in agreement.
