I have written to both DDC and DTC about this and will be writing to DHB too.
There would only need to be one submission, but it needs the co-operation and commitment of all 3 major stakeholders.

By that Mark, I mean DDC, DTC and DHB; others can declare themselves as stake-holders if they wish to.
I guess you could argue that we're all stake-holders in one way or another.
I have received positive feed-back from DTC and DDC, so we should be able to work out a plan.
I am continuing to work on my Tourism Strategy for Dover and the Plan of Action for Dover (Town).

I had a reply from Bob Goldfield yesterday too and he is quite positive about the initiative being progressed.
I would guess the TC would progress the application, but hopefully working with the District and where DHB input would be required, them too.
There's about 6 weeks to do this and it is a big exercise; the criteria can be interpreted in a number of ways, so hope we interpret it correctly.

difficult for the harbour board to commit to anything at the moment, nobody knows who will be running it in the future.

Maybe it's just open for dwarfs (or should that term be vertically challenged ??

Looked like they were refurbishing the place when I walked past the other day

I have had 3 positive replies regarding the Mary Portas review and the £1 million pot to be shared amongst 12 towns that submit the best entries.
I understand that DTC believe this is do-able; I am working on my tourism strategy and Plan of Action for Dover as I do believe they would help with the submission.

Well done Roger, quite an achievement to get three positives so quickly, is there any other group left to agree.

Yes Bern, I also think it is great. All know they should be supporting each other and the Town. If they have clicked on and read the link, they will know what is required and if they have all done that, then there is even more chance of success.
I hope I can play a part, but we'll see.

Roger that's fantastic I can only echo what Bern has said
