I do not know the rules as they stand today,it was in the 1980s and 90s when I done it. But I am not trying to put anyone off doing it,as I said it is great to see men and women doing it and not just siting there ,waiting for a job to turn up which will not happen in the bad times we are working in.I was set up on my own with workshop and van and the gear ,but because I went year in and out working for just the one company the taxman came to see me or by letter telling me that I must get more work frrom more than one company as they do not look at the way I was working was that as a company. But I was working all over theUK and even overseas 7DAYS AWEEK and had no time or need to go to find anymore work.In fact I was turning work away I just could not do anymore then I was doing. Was I so good to get all this work? I do not think so,I got no overtime worked for the same money at weekends as weekdays,No days off,I went to Liverpool on one job which should have been for one week, but was up there over 18weeks without time off and did not get home,in fact I was there so long in digs that I got a council tax bill from the Liverpool council, which I must say I did not pay.It was and still is very hard working like that so anyone doing it ,Its a well done from myself.
