The recent threads/posts on Guston developments - housing, IBC, Fastrack, cemetery and solar farm, reminded me that I once saw mention made of a new (DDC-backed?) railway station. The only reference to it that I can now find is in the
https://www.dover.uk.com/forums/dover-forum/dover-to-folkestone-rail-line thread, where young Haddock's 2016 post at #16 includes "Building a brand new station somewhere near Guston to serve a couple of thousand people living some distance away in Whitfield" and "The mere fact that any of this is supported by DDC should indicate the lunacy of the plans." What happened to this whizzo wheeze - is it dead or sleeping and does anyone have any maps?
(I also recall a fictional book which had a Channel tunnel ending at East Langdon, and a real-life proposed station near Dover Castle (!) in connection with the Goodwins Airport - can't find either of those either.)
