The post you are reporting:
Growth point status for Dover District means that at least 6,000 houses would be built in the green belt village of Whitfield, just outside Dover, and hundreds more in the Sholden parish area near Deal.
The residents of Whitfield and Sholden have overwhelmingly said that this urbanisation is not wanted, and we in Dover Town don't want it either, as we would have thousands - tens of thousands - of settlers coming into Dover each day, with their cars, polluting an already over-polluted town, and competing for the vacant jobs.
We have many empty houses in Dover, for rent and for sale, and wish to presrve our green areas for us and our parish neighbours, with whom we agree: that we don't want these new urbanisation schemes!
But DDC keeps telling us that they WILL go ahead to the last brick, and not one brick less.
Is this public consultation? No it isn't! It's not democracy either.
