Back in the summer I went to a Cacti show at the Lydden parish hall, and Mts Hollingsbee was there to and I was being told all about Cacti and how to grow them.
I came back from Spain with afew thats why I went to the show in the first place to find more out about them well I left the show with about 30 Cacti and now grow them myself I have potted them all on and they are growing well in my greenhouse and must say the flowers you get from them are great ,I am into growing them now in a big way geting some most weeks ,they are very easy to grow on but do not over water them again you can all ways come up and have a look at them but it is reading their names out that not easy.I am about to get one more green house to house them all ,they are not real greenhouse but I can walk in and it is hot inside they cost on line about £35 each . I hope they will put the show back on soon so I can buy some more they are dear to buy in the Garden centres about £2.50 each for a very small one but at the show I got about 30 for about £7.+ the information sheets telling me all about the ones I have got. Its a very good hoppy try it.

"a very good hoppy"
Moral...
Never grow cacti...in your bare feet. [Nor in your boots, neither.]

If they have prickles, keep them well away from children and pets !
And keep a pair of tweezers handy !

had similar experiences with the small spikey ones, trying to repot them should be made an olympic event.

I have some huge cacti - they may not be show winners but they're certainly big! I've had them for years. Lovely things, but not the kind of thing you want to try to catch if you accidentally knock them off the windowsill!

Had to chuckle at the cartoon. Many years ago my Nan was in bed when she heard my Grandad come home after a party. She heard him stumble on the stairs and crashing into the bedroom obviously the worse for wear. He started cussing and seemed to take forever to collapse into bed. When she woke in the morning she discovered the dressing table mirror covered in small pieces of elastoplast and sticking out from under the sheets was Grandad's bare bum covered in small cuts from the broken whiskey bottle in his trouser pocket!

Reduce the watering Vic as the weather gets colder, and they won't stand frost of course.

Perhaps you should try a hypnotherapist who could give you a fear of needles.
