quite a moving speech from the now former prime minister outside number 10 a few minutes ago.
couldn't help but notice that his suit pockets seemed to be bulging, you could almost see the outline of a stapler, calculator, hole punch and a few boxes of paper clips
Ode to Gordie, please sing lyrics to Bay City Rollers hit:
"If you hate me after what I say
Can't put it off any longer
Just gotta tell you anyway
Bye bye Gordie, Gordie goodbye
By Gordie, Gordie bye bye
Your the one exPm in town I'd harry
Boy, I'd harry you now if I were me
I wish it could be
I could obey you but why begin it
'cause there ain't any future in it
DC's got me but I ain't free
Bye bye Gordie, Gordie goodbye
By Gordie, Gordie bye bye
Wish I had known you better
Wish had known you before Cleggy or DC
How good will they be for me?
Should have told you not to linger
There's a Tory thing on my finger
DC's got me and I'm not free
Bye bye Gordie, Gordie goodbye
By Gordie, Gordie bye bye
Bye bye Gordie, don't make me cheer
By Gordie, Gordie bye bye
By Gordie, Gordie bye bye
By Gordie, Gordie bye bye

Short Prayer
Dear Lord, I know that I don't talk to you that much, but I note this past year you have taken away my favourite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favourite actress, Farah Fawcett, my favourite musician, Michael Jackson, and my favourite cricketer, Alec Bedser. I just wanted to let you know that my favourite prime minister is Gordon Brown! Amen.

No sympathy, but so funny.

I'm glad he's no longer Prime Minister, but I thought the manner of his departure was dignified and genuine - with one exception: the way he bought out his two boys for a photo op and a walk down Downing Street to the waiting cars, where they were shepherded on the quiet round the back! A bit cynical, but a thumbnail of Gordon Brown to the end.
True friends stab you in the front.

I thought that a bit odd - at first I suspected he was taking them to meet HMQ, in which case it was understandable he would have had them there, but clearly was not the case.

According to this mornings news the children did accompany him to Buck Palace. Obama flaunts his family at every opportunity and no-one bats an eyelid. Why should Browns children be ushered out of the back door like scullery maids.

I think therefore I am (not a Tory supporter)

Marek - the BBC showed the limos pulling up to collect Brown after his audience, it showed Brown and his missus getting in and driving away, no sign of children. I watched it live, no edited highlights. Perhaps you think he left his kids behind!
Does it really matter, he's gone, Labour has gone. Let us celebrate the exciting, if difficult, times ahead under the leadership of DC/NC. Anyone not up for the fight should leave now.
Gordon wasnt perfect but i did feel for him politics was his life ,he has proven to be more honourable than Nick Clegg .
The only thing Gordie has proved is that Labour DEFINITELY cannot be trusted with the economy.

Good point in #14 Howard, he hardly featured at all.
Well at least Chris Huhne, the new Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, should feel at home amongst the Conservatives.
Educated Westminster Public School, Sorbonne and Oxford (1st Class PPE) + owner of no less than seven homes I don't think he'd have enjoyed a load of chippie lefties as colleagues!

seven homes?
even our chas has not reached that number yet?
definitely a class system is still in operation in our fair democracy, what with the dynamic duo(dave and nick), this all makes our posh barry look potless.

bob, nothing wrong with left handed chippies.
Yes, seven homes. Admittedly he lives in two of them (you can 'only' claim for one extra home on expences) and rents out the others.
If one were to believe the words of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon that 'property is theft' this guy ought to be up for Grand Larceny!
