Newsnight had a special tonight discussing our relationship with , erm, Europe. Ariel footage over Saint Margarets was a sight to behold. A far less spectacular sight was the dynamic duo Paddy Ashtray and Peter Pain, sorry Hain, opining how good the EU was for Britain. I'm still racking my brains trying to find how this institution has actually benefited us all so it looks like a long night for me.
Good old Farage and David Davies seemed to be the only sensible people on the programme but then I'm biased I suppose.
Anyone here have any ideas on this? Just how has the EU made our life better? I mean I know we shouldn't be insulated from the outside world and insular in our ideas but in general I'm stuck for ideas. I've read figures on the trade balance but I'm not sure those figures tell the whole story.
