No, no. A thousand times no!
We do indeed need to recover, BUT we forget at our utter peril the FACT! that the ever-rosy view is EXACTLY what has brought us to our current sorry-pass.
'Jobs' gained verses 'jobs' lost is one instance of these old habits being hard to shake. That there will be a substantial mix of full-time and part-time jobs within these statistics may be of little account to you Barry, and the noble Baron Bates, but to the 'poor' sods, the actual living, eating, breathing and voting human beings behind the stark figures it is a whole other story.
That percentage gains are a very poor indicator of the actuality is also pointed-up in terms of the 'predicted' rises in wage levels:1.5% rise in the minimum wage rate would not come to £2/week, but 0.5% of about £250,000 may well end in a '2'.
Some, while not wishing to 'talk-down' any recovery are in no way non-plussed to talk down to their perspective voters...those that require votes that is.
