Sorry but I think that is far to much to pay even knowing they have gone up.
A lot of Dover fans do not have that kind of money to watch football.
And just think the cost to a family.
They have had their first own goal they should have a rethink about that before the big K/O.
If they do not do well they will see less public up there then they have been having.
There was a big fall in numbers then things went wrong .
Now the numbers should go back up because the way it went good in the end but with this kind of cost added that might not happen.

it does seem a lot for non league football but they will be paying higher wages next season.
do we know who chris Kinnear is keeping/letting go yet?

True but the ex fans they will see would offset that putting it up by one pound would have been better but £3 is to much.

I go to Charlton quite regularly and it costs £18 to £21 a match and they provide a coach to take you there. It costs £8 return from Deal and Dover

Be realistic, we have gone into a National league with a huge leap in expenditure. We will be one of the cheapest in the league, just how would you obtain the money needed Vic?

some years back when Charlton were in the premier league they used to run a coach from dover and deal cost under 20 quid including match ticket.
didn't apply when the big fish like manure, Liverpool and west ham were the visitors of course.

I just told you that the money will come from the gate if costs were at alow should have left it at £12 just for the first year they are still not going full time if that had been then yes the ex cash would have been needed.
But at £15 we will not get the 1000to 1500 needed to pass the gate.

To be honest Vic I thought the increase would have been bigger, delighted that the Board have kept the increase reasonable and maintained cheap admission for students and free for under 11's . The Conference bears no resemblance to what we were in 12 years ago, it is now virtually the 4th division and includes teams like Bristol Rovers and Wrexham, I for one will enjoy the ride

Agreed Martin.
That's just what it costs to watch Conference football; as you say there are more expensive clubs than us.
What Vic seems to be saying is that Dover doesn't have the money to support a Conference club, something we are extremely privileged to have.

Sorry but I am not saying that.
What I said was some fans will find it hard to find £15 each match.
There are full time sides in the conference that have to be paid just that but Dover players are still part-time so not costing the club so much as full time players.
And I just think that the ex cost will keep some members of the public away.
I hope I am wrong but we will have to see want happens
But if they do not play better at home then they did the gate will fall in numbers again.
By keeping at £12 or even £13 then that might not happen.
As a club I look forward to going to some home and away match if I find the funds to do that.

this will be an issue with dover's part timers up against some teams that have been training together all week.
it's not just about fitness the full time clubs will be working on their skills, practicing set pieces etc.

A cup of Costa Coffee £2.50+ while a pint of beer is usually even more so I am sure that the fans will manage the £3 increase with relative ease.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

OK Vic so if the entrance fee had not gone up just who would have to put in the short fall. Players want more for playing in a higher league, travel costs will be a lot higher etc etc.
We will want several new players who the club will have to pay good wages to get and there are very few who are good enough that live local so the club have to pay their travel costs to come down to Dover on top of their wage. I also think the minimum entrance set by the Conference is £15 so if that is correct the club have done the best they can, we the supporters can not have it all, if we want a higher league with better players then the money has to be found.
Trying popping up to the ground and you will see a lot of work going on such as painting, broken seats being replaced, reseeding of the pitch and treating it. Certainly work that costs thousands where do you think all that money comes from and you go on about a £2 increase.
So you see Vic keeping it at £12 or £13 would mean we could not afford better players to give you the wins to keep "The I only support a winning team" fans like you attending, and that my friend is financial reality.

(1) This is only my point of view and I could be the only one that thinks it should stay around the £12 to £13 mark .
Running a football club does cost a lot of funding and the better the club more costs there are.
But if they do not do well in the Conference in the first year then what I am saying is at £15 per match all the hard work done by both the players and club, what happens if like before the gates drop in number ? they will not be better off.
Just like food shopping the big stores are getting less public because the small ones like aldes the same shopping will cost less.
By keeping the gate cost at £13 might mean more of the public go to a match so more funds will come from it.

Sorry do not understand last post.
But we will see what happens .
As for myself I will be going but I will not be getting any cash cards or pies to make up for the shortfall so how many more will do the same club might find less taking at the bar and food outlet .

I am trying to say the Board know what they are doing, they have run the club superbly since taking over and have taken us from near extinction to Conference Premier.

Vic if the Conference minimum entrance fee is £15 then do the club break their rules. You will not pay £15 anyway Vic you are a senior so get concession rates. .
Right so the club do what you want Vic and leave it at £13 go into the red and get slagged off for poor management. You have to meet the costs Vic and like it or not it is going to cost a lot more this year to be in the Conference.
