Our Tilmanstone Village Hall Committee (which I am a member of), has been very pleased to receive the grants from Coalfields Regeneration Project Trust, viz:
"Coalfields Grant: We were all delighted that our application late in 2011 for a further grant from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, managed by Dover District Council, was successful. The Chairman and Committee would like to thank them for all their support and hard work. This grant for £3,176. 12. enabled new heaters to be installed in the hall and kitchen, and for a complete new matching set of tables to be purchased to replace the old ones, with a trolley to store and transport them in. The extra facilities and more warmth in the hall will benefit a wide range of users and clubs in the community as well as private hirers. At present the hall is used for Parish Council, children's parties, receptions (weddings/funerals etc), flower arrangement, elections, Parochial Church Council, and practise, WI meetings and events, village market, village hall Fund-raising events; table tennis, exhibitions and celebrations. At the Village Hall AGM the Chairman Brian Page, and committee, expressed grateful thanks to the Trust and DDC for their help and support."
