I wonder how they will get it to fly freely without sending someone up a ladder with a hair dryer.

In the past it has flewn from the Town Hall One reason unlike some I think we only use that flag pole on special days Now no one know why the nation flag is flying .Bit like wreaths that if left too long loose their meaning.

I cant & will not agree to that .Thats the most disgraceful comment going ,The nations flag should always fly in all Cities Towns & Villages 24/7 and no wreath ever loses its meaning to the memorial its been laid and the person who has laid it .In Belgium France the Netherlands and all over Europe the National flag flies never ever does it lose its meaning so why would the Union Jack lose its meaning here i find that very offensive and un patriotic .

The nations flag should always fly, do you really think Sue Nicholas it should only fly on special occasions ? If so why was it not flying on Sunday for the Queens celebrations ? It seems to me that it only flies when someone remembers to raise it. As for wreaths losing their meaning - that really is a disgraceful statement - to the people that lay them it means everything, it means remembering a loved one lost in tragic circumstances, a life cut short some of them teenagers. Try explaining your statement to someone like Caroline Aldridge who lost her son in Afghanistan & mourns for him every day of her life. He fought & died under that flag you think should only fly on special occasions. His wreath thrown away after a couple of weeks - his Mother remembers him every day of her life - the flag should fly to honour him & all the other brave men who died so that you can make shameful statements like that.

And im not old enough to be a Granny The flowers you will lay on sunday mean everything to you as they should ,but you d be hurt if someone said they lose their meaning ,every yr i lay flowers to my relatives that laid down their lives in WW2 those flowers never ever lose their meaning i also on behalf of a lot of ppl in Dover laid flowers last year at the Shoreham air crash scene those flowers too will never lose their meaning from what i can gather all the flowers were going to be made into a compost for a memorial garden ,To say that wreaths & flowers lose all meaning is hurtful ,no one can take memories away laying flowers wreaths candles or whatever is a tribute to the person/persons concerned Forever Young

I assume it was in respect of the Death of MP Jo Cox.I recall many years ago at a planning site meeting an objector walking around with a gun.We were all pleased when the meeting ended. We were out in the remote country side. You never know.

Not a good day for this weather wise.Always think when it rains our armed forces have no choice,so standing in the rain for a few minutes is no problem.

Having been in a few bomb blasts ,riots & shooting s in NI ,We would have thought it was Christmas with just a lone man walking around with a gun My other half has slept in a wet muddy ditch so a few minutes in the rain isnt going to hurt you, daresay most had brollies as not to spoil the hairdos
