I think parts of River also needs to be look after it does flood to,even where I live could easy go under water,I am always looking at the drains, and I am thinking about geting sandbags just in case,I have had it up to the back door last time.I still have all the photos of Folkestone Rd when the floods came, I will not forget that Sunday morning,I was in the ground floor flats trying to help in the clean up, and geting the S/Service out and the D/Council out to help,I was feeling very sorry for the members of the public that lived there, they lost all their belongs etc.In the photos I have taken you can see the water marks around the inside walls and the mess it all made.

Yes that bit by Morrisons looks a complete mess at the moment. There was an enormous rat sitting in the middle of that bit having a preening session this morning, also a not very elegant piece of blue pipe sticking out of the water by the weir.

That blue outlet has been there for years even during B& Q days, it does not run all the time and was not when I went past at about 10.15 this morning. A pure guess I should think it has something to do with drainage from the car park.
The reeds on the road side has been cut back but not by very much
