Seemed a lot more than that at the time Brian, I could walk 3 or 4 miles then without a problem. Do you mean 900 yards to the "Welcome to Samphire Hoe" sign? After that is a rather long tunnel then a car park then a further walk to the sea wall.

There seems to be some keen fisherman on this forum perhaps it would be possible to enlist the help of Captain Haddock or:

Well I did say the pier would open again for fishing and if you look into the sea news you will see it for yourself.

The Admirality Pier Was always going to reopen it was closed so they say because of the demo marches.Still it was a great shame that local fisherman lost two days and the shops in Snargate suffered.

It was originally 3 days and also the second biggest weekend of the year for angling. Considered safe for the Disney cruise passengers though.

The Disney cruise liner is back today so the Admiralty pier is closed to the public.

That is a great shame.Do we now expect the pier to close every time a cruise ship arrives.I don't recall this happening in previous years.
