The Empress has been here before, but only in the past couple of years. Below is a picture of her in 2010.
Also, the DHB website indicates that in 2013 Hapag-Lloyd's Columbus 2 is making her debut visit to Dover. Not strictly true - because while we will see her for the first time under the Hapag-Lloyd flag, she is more familiar to us as the Insignia when operated by Oceania Cruises. In fact she is still owned by Oceania and is currently on a short charter to Hapag. Originally she was a Renaissance ship, the same familiar design as others we've seen like the Regatta, Tahitian Princess/Ocean Princess, Nautica, Minerva 2/Royal Princess and Azamara Journey.
The cruise industry seems to be getting more and more like a Swap Shop!
