a major clear out taking place there, at least 6 full skips.
i have not seen any planning application go in for the site, i was thinking that maybe the insurance had been paid out and the developers are now going to carry on with original work.

notised somthing going on out the corner of my eye this morning,but by the time i turned round the bus was up by vicky creasant.

despite the age of the photo the church looked great and like that about 4 years ago.
i really hope that the renovation that appears to be happening is on the grand scale that was planned then.
would bring a big spend into town as well as being pleasing on the eye.

It could have been a lot worse as i'd imagine if it was structurally unsound then it would have been long demolished

Agree Howard, it will great to see it finished off and looking good - not quite as in Paul's photo, but full of good people spending their money in Dover.

Here's the video I took on the day it caught fire. I'd almost forgotten about it. It was really heartbreaking but also spellbounding to watch the destruction. I"m so glad something is finally happening.

I was at the shop on that Saturday and saw the fire develop from a tiny wisp of smoke into that raging inferno in such a very short time. With the road closed it was almost eerie, no traffic and only a very few pedestrians walking past.
Such a shame with the building 99% finished and the open day due on the Sunday, some flats were even sold.

At long last, I just hope the conversion does not take long the building has been left far to long.
I was volunteering in the shop that day of the fire, from a small wisp of smoke to a to massive flames in such a short time. Such a shame as the open day for viewing the finished apartments was the following day if I remember correctly.
