  It's nice to know we can't blame bad publicity if not many people turn up.
  
  When I was running the Dover Loyalty Scheme and the Leisure Centre joined, the intention was to try to appeal to every one to get in shape and feel fit and well.
  
  They had some great offers for members of the Loyalty Scheme and I built up a good sized database of card-holders who I could (and still do) email with "Public Information" notices, up and coming events and local business news.
  
  Sadly not many people took up any of their offers; some were directed at older people (yes, like myself), but it many cases, it is the older sector of society that need to be active, more than some others.
