    I certainly agree with that Ed.

    People didn't seem to realise or care that they were destroying living history as the bulldozers moved in.

    Most of these things were destroyed years ago long before Jean and I moved here - some before the Luftwaffe and some after.

    You mentioned John Bavington Jones; I found a Dover-map of his on the internet stating where the mediavel walls of Dover were (to be used for the Historic Walks of Dover I'm hoping to start and promote soon); turned out that later research showed he was wrong on the location of the walls and gates.
