I have just seen Father Christmas in River .He was in a cart puulled by a mini traction engine .I think he was making an appearance at Crabble Corn Mill.
Oh the wonders of Christmas .
Dont forget next Saturday we have a parade with people dressed up in Victorian Costumes walking to the River Recreation Ground .There will be carol singing around a Christmas Tree.Mulled wine at the Mill .Procession leaves bus terminus at 4.30pm .

Sorry Bern,River .End of Lewisham Road by the churchThere is a football match on so the bus at 4.00pm from Pencester may not get there in time .I would advise people to catch the 3.40pm .from Pencester .

Is that phoney still about? I wrote a letter to him 50 years ago this Christmas. I`m still waiting for the train set.

Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

strange time of year this, we tell kids not to talk to strangers or accept lifts or confectionery from them, then on christmas eve they get told to lure a fat bloke with a red conk and big gut into their room late at night with food and drink.
no wonder they get confused.

Oh dear Colin, I think you will find Nigel Collor got that train set a few years ago from the real father Christmas at Crabble Corn Mill and there was a photo of him with it on this forum.
But hey get to the Mill next Saturday and Sunday, bring the kids as well and you never know!

Thanks Harry. The kids are bit too big now, but they don`t believe in him anyway. I did like Hancock did. Told them when they were 3 there was no Santa. Why should I spend all that money out and let someone else get the credit for it.

Anyone seen that lorry haulage company. Been about a few years, called David Christmas Ltd. Some of you may have seen them. Anyway, imagine them going round with David Xmas on the side! Back to the subject, I`ll try and make a visit to the above Harry. (Only if I can have a present off Santa though).

I would just like to say mywife and me havebeen helping out to day at the mill and what a great day for the familys and it will be there again next weekend. We in Dover owe Pat,And Ant and the rest of the helpers out at the mill so much without them the mill would not be runing as we know it. each day and weekends they are there some times till about 2.00am in the morning and then back again at 0800hrs on the SAME day and they do it all for nothing just for the love of keeping the mill open, it is a very big thank you to them from all of us.

Harry or any of the guys from the Mill if you can send me a bit of info on the timings of the Santa Claus arrival and so forth I will remind people...and will try to get up there for a couple of pictures. Did take pictures of the event for a number of years as its always a good one. Very popular with the kids for sure.

Paul
Father Christmas arrived at the Mill on Sunday but he will be there again this Sunday at 2pm until 5pm and I am being told he is making a special vist on Saturday at the Mill to link in with the Dickens Festival.
He did want to go to the football up the Crabble but was told off by Mother Christmas for even thinking about it.

went past the screen late afternoon, wonderful to hear the children murdering christmas carols.
the lights and tree in market square looked a lot better than we have had before despite everything.
have to count our blessings sometimes, anyway that is enough mush for now.
