I didn't see this development as London over spill particularly the retirement village. Not good news for the WHPS who would have got a substantial sum of money to spend on the fortifications on the Western Heights.

Whilst the youth of Dover are doing their bit to save us from the curse of having an aging population, by producing the second highest teenage pregnancy rate in Kent, and Charlie is talking the usual platitudes about 'providing homes for the youth of Dover', one wonders exactly who will be buying/renting the extra the extra 600 dwellings at Farthingloe, never mind about the proposed 2000 at Whitfield, and not forgetting the Connaught Barracks site, without a massive influx of Londoners bringing some of the 'diversity and vibrancy' which Dover District does not have (and which some dare to say makes it still a nice place to live in)
