Yes Carole but you do not have to ask them to be friends or accept them either. You need have nothing at all to do with them. You have control and can use it however you wish. I have nothing at all to do with any so called celebs on FB, unless you include a few MPs and candidates of my acquaintance as celebs!

Well, Carole, of course celebs like Beckham use Facebook, but it's not obligatory to follow their movements!
There are indeed some great local groups on Facebook, such as Dover (Kent) History Pages, Dover Community Garden, Western Heights Preservation Society, Old Pubs of Deal and Walmer, The Bohemian: Resurrection page (set up this week to kick-start the reopening of the Boho, Deal's favourite and best pub, which was tragically destroyed by fire in the early hours of Monday morning), to name but a few.
Fascinating, useful, effective, social and galvanising, Facebook is generally a force for good in an often dull online world.
Cheers,

I think many of the celebrity pages on there are not run by the celeb themselves but set up by one of their minions or as fan pages by fan clubs. The stuff gets posted about them and picked up by the newspapers and websites. I steer clear.

The Link to our heritage page is below.
You have to make request to join or be invited, this keeps out the riff- raff. If anyone wants to join it is easy, enjoy.

Barry, Andy, Gary: Thank you for your views. I am not in the least bit interested in celebs. Just quoted Beckham as an example. Andy and Gary the local pages you mention sound interesting and I will certainly visit them. Never been one to fail to admit when I am in the wrong.
Reg I quite understand. There are far worse addictions than full stopping. I am rather fond of the exclamation mark and tend to overuse it!!!!!!!!!!!
