Karlos it was the procession of lanterns etc. There were large made animals worked by poles .Im not quite sure how they are made. The procession was led by a band and the mayor was at the front in his robes. It was well advertised.

It depends on what you call well advertised, I knew the event was on but thought it was about the so called carnival we get at this time of year, there was no mention of those lantern animals, a glass of non-alcoholic punch and mince pie etc was not exactly enticing people to attend. Such a shame it was not better publicised I suspect many more would have liked to see it.

It's a pity it was tucked away in the tiny Ladywell car park. In years past it was held in the precinct with stalls from Pencester to the Market Square.

Pity, we didn’t know either (guilty), or we would have supported it.

Dover Winter Light Up is planned for a return on December 3 next year.

I see that the road closure signs are still in place. Perhaps they should leave them there and change the 4th to the 3rd!
