Great start to the tournament in my view a win by the hosts but Romania very unlucky.

Wales leading Slovakia at half time serving as an hors D'oeuvres for the main match England v Russia.
Getting back to the opening match yesterday there were 20, 000 Romanians in the ground paying £.450 a ticket plus over priced flights and hotels, this is supposed to be a poor country.

Conflicting reports coming out of Marseilles Reg, doubt that genuine football fans were involved.
Exciting to see Wales beat Slovakia earlier but I worry about England as they have put so much into the first half against Russia without reward they may fade later. All teams so far have tried to attack as much as they can which bodes well for us armchair supporters.

All it takes is 2 idiots from London, 2 from Manchester, 2 from Liverpool, etc and then trouble starts. Individually in each city no-one notices them, but put them together they make national news.

What a cruel finish England thoroughly deserved to win that, they only have to play the same way against Wales and Slovakia to qualify.

We have seen film of Russian thugs attacking England supporters in the stadium at the end of the game yesterday. French media and police blamed it all on the Russians, the Russian foreign minister agreed and UEFA have charged Russia over the violence.
Nett result England and Russia have been threatened with being thrown out of the tournament!!

Maybe because of the drunk English morons behaviour in Marsailles, not really fair on either football team as they were not fighting.

The ones fighting in the streets of Marseilles were not there for the football. It was organised on social media months ago by the far right of both countries with the plan to attack Muslims living there. However the latter kept their heads down so it was left to the Nazis of both countries to bash each other. It is common knowledge that football hooliganism other than in the lower leagues has been eliminated in England for over 20 years whilst in Russia it is growing by the year hence they are on a suspended sentence in world football.

Doesn't bear thinking about, I notice that thugs from Ukraine and Germany battled each other before their match yesterday and in Nice local Ultras set upon fans from Northern Ireland and Poland.

Police in action with tear gas and stun grenades in Lille after Slovakia beat Russia this afternoon. Doesn't bode well as England and Wales fans are due to arrive this evening ahead of their game in nearby Lens.

Has anyone else noticed that the French authorities waste no time in deporting within days those who have broken their laws but we in the UK are told that paedophiles, rapists, murderers and other not very nice people can stay so that their family life is not affected.

What a relief that win was, poetic justice getting the winner in stoppage time.

Looks like the whole shenanigans has developed into a
political football with the Russians getting increasingly agitated by recent developments.

Refreshing to see all these fans from other countries being brought to book instead of England.

Not enough quality from England. 5 shots out of 30 on target
Best part of the game - England's fans.
