Could Dave simply be getting in touch with his feminine side?

Better than a dictatorial, I am never wrong, will not change my mind, send me over the cliff, I will take you all with me..etc.
Personally, I like a flexible Male, why are you weak, if you change your mind?
Dave is fed up with all the blocks etc..this will spur them on to do something

dave flexible?
i would describe him as malleable, each policy he brings out he crumbles at the first hint of criticism.
whatever we may think of thatcher and blair they both stood their ground.

......And look what happened.
I am with Christine, it takes a strong person to admit they are wrong.

I'm with howard on this one,
Blair(whom i disagreed a lot with)
maggie(whom i had little time for)both were good leaders who had visions and would not crumble at the first sign of disagreement.

Cameron`s trait to grab the headlines,as usual, becomes a `Gaffe`...Downing Street have had to cover up by again going in
to reverse /retreat at high speed....Cameron`s statement ``We are bringing in legislation to `force` energy companies to put
customers on the cheapest tariff ``....there is a new `sit-com` gripping Westminster.....CBI say `Cameron`s scare stories would
discourage investment in the energy industry`.....Energy experts say Cameron`s `pledge` would wreck competition in the
energy market and lead to higher prices ...Ed Davey the````Energy Minister````` knew nothing of the matter ?????..another
case of ill-conceived policies ...now being done on the `hoof`....CBI deputy director says Cameron`s `promise` runs completely
against competition in the market place....now that`s ``dictatorial``
# 9 .......superfluous .........it is blatantly obvious a closet or budding closet would not agree with Keith or.....any criticism
of the tory cock-ups or their ill-conceived policies.......

the talk is about people getting the cheapest tariff, all well and good but how would we know unless brutish gas and the like are forced to tell us.
at present the suited and booted rep appears with a gleaming smile and flashes a spreadsheet so detailed in small print that post 245 on the port thread looks like a sound bite.

yes, the mouse gave the impression it was going to be enforced
now we are seeing a side step.
that the utility companies will be frowned upon(so what?)
even ofgem is saying wait for the detail, as there not convinced it's workable project.
That's not to say it was with good intent

The big suppliers keep competition out. By offering cheep subsidized deals to new customers
If they where forced to offer the cheep deal across the board to all there customers it would prevent them from ,setting up these subsidized deals in the first place.
This would open up the energy sector to smaller suppliers, and customers could jump ship,
Hopefully this would force the big 6 to cut there prices ,to compete in a more balanced market .
If this is what Cameron is going to do we should all see bills coming down
Maybe Barry could clarify the government's statements,

Co-operative Energy Prices for Domestic Customers
These prices include VAT at the current rate of 5%
Co-operative Energy Pricing: Version 5.0 (from 5 Sept 2012)
South East England (Region 19)
Electricity:
12.02p/kWh
Two-rate, Economy 7:
13.32p/kWh (day rate) 7.49p/kWh (night rate)
Gas:
3.90p/kWh
There is a standing charge of £64.26p common to all regions and tariffs.
They say that they have one single tariff rate, then go on to say that there is no penalty for coming off their variable rate.
There are inherent problems in the simple solution I have oft repeated here, not least one of Political Will. Nevertheless...
Energy costs should be set at a low rate for an agreed initial usage so that all homes can be heated and keep the lights on. Rates should then increase with usage.

Utility companies should be owned by their employees and their customers. Thatcher's stock market privatisations were wrong IMHO. But leaving them state-owned would also have been wrong. The state can't even run a tax-collecting business properly.
