East Kent Housing no longer have NHMs for a specific area anymore.
If only everyone could be kind and honest what a better world we would be in.

The above information on changes to Neighbour Hood Managers is being challanged as EKH have not offically stated to its Tenants about those changes. This information came direct from DDC on behalf of EKH as EKH wont say anything at all.
It seems there was a system - Neighbourhood manager for each area upto 800 properties or over each NHM to manage. That manager had a email address and mobile number so as to manage tenants in his area, from what is seen. Now its being said; East Kent Housing no longer have NHMs for a specific area anymore. So where does this leave the area's and tenants in those area's unable to contact a direct manager to help them and with information. So this information will be challanged to its accuracy as there is thousands of tenants who rely of NHM's in their areas.

Slightly off topic but read this elsewhere.
Last Friday night as the 'Beast from the East' was on the rampage, my daughter's council owned house sprung a major leak, which affected the electrics resulting in her getting a nasty shock. She made multiple calls to EKH..Mears..P&R.. eventually Mears sent a man who cut a hole in the ceiling, and left!

I would assume there is more to that or would they still be without electricity and water pouring in?

Apparently Sir Peter Wallace spent all weekend on the phone to all concerned and the necessary repair work was eventually done. I don't know how he got involved as it certainly wasn't in his ward.

Over the weekend he made many calls and involved other Councillors, attempting to get the tradesmen out to make the house safe for her and the children(electricity + water + small children being a dangerous combination.!) You are so fortunate , in Dover, having Councillors of this calibre. Heartfelt thanks Peter .

The above note of appreciation, was put on Dover for Dovorians . As a genuine thank you.
Just thought you should all know the full facts. It seems Howard McSweeney is always looking for additional material from Facebook. Well he does, and it shows on this Forum.
However, the above comments from him #7 are spiteful.
Peter Wallace / Ann Napier / and John Heron are incredible Councillors.
Many people, are genuinely thankful to them, in this harsh society.

Dianna Jones May I help? The "" necessary repair work "" certainly wasn't done.. nor has it been to date.. the entire system is a total shambles, and certainly not up to even the minimum standards to be expected. My commendation of Councillor Wallace was purely based on the fact that a woman, on her own with children, faced with potentially life threatening, situation ,having been knocked unconscious by a massive electric shock due to water ingress within the property wiring system, and having received absolutely no help from those who are contracted to sort out such issues, asked me, her mother, by phone what else she could do, and I contacted Peter Wallace, who, as you rightly state is not in her (or my ) ward, but who is well known as one of the few Councillors who can be relied on to help anyone in genuine need. That was on Saturday , early hours.. he remained in touch throughout the weekend.. as his wife will testify! Your really nasty and bitchy comments, as posted by Christine (above) says a whole lot more about your character , Howard Mcsweeney, than it does about anything else.. get gone fool!

I have a lot of respect for the Wearside Wonder - the time and effort he puts into his council casework putting many others (myself included) to shame. When someone is in need of immediate help, as outlined above, and one has the ability to assist, I don't think 'ward boundaries' come into the equation.

Thank you , 'Captain Haddock. When folk are scared, and in danger, it's heartening to know there are elected representatives willing to put themselves out, to help, whatever the 'Ward' they are in, indeed..to be fair, whatever else are they elected for?

Was she not offered emergancy accomadation 'A hotel' until work done. East Kent Housing took on Mears they are responsible for the service thats being given and should work with them if problems. If this lady was in or still is in these circumstances then EKH should be putting her and her children into a safer accomadation until the work is done to standards and the property safe. A hotel is cheaper than someone's life, cost of that hotel may speed up the works if these works take longer.
Did EKH contact back and did they offer help as this was life threatening problem here with children also by the sounds of it.

I can understand Howards comments .In my experience I found it useful out of courtesy to advise the complaintants Ward Councillor that I had been requested to get involved .I often helped people outside my own Ward.EKH need a good revamp of their services. The leadership seems to be wanting. This sort of situation would not have happened when it was DDC .

It's really quite painful reading this thread.
Do we know whether the constituent's own councillor was contacted in the first place and, if so, what happened?
The EKH issue seems to be a much larger question. Is it a case of another failing privatised contract? A Carillion on a much smaller scale? I'd like to hear the opinions of those more involved with these matters. Are services being managed for ideology's sake rather than efficacy?
