To get their name in? Well, Name is the first thing on the list...
"Initial expressions of interest should include as a minimum the following information:
· Names, contact details and curriculum vitae of people who will be leasing or operating the premises
· Outline business plan including clear vision of proposed activities, financial plans and forecasts, proposed timescales and schedules and supporting information such as market research for the proposed business, visuals etc
· Clear outline of proposed community benefit and/or social contribution from the proposed activities/business
· References who can be contacted with regard to the proposal and those individuals who will be involved in delivering it."

We cannot get the right ones in Dover because of funding but in the papaer today,we the public have just paid out £100.000 for only two loos in the house of lords but it is only a makeover of ones still there and they were last done only in the 1990s and Dover have to close theirs because we cannot keep them clean how wrong is all this .When are we going to see the end of a Goverment that only look after number one.A lords spokesman said We,ll focus on valuefor money, they should have handed it over to Dover then.

My grandaughter asked in all innocence, " Why do we have dog poo bins Grandma but no people poo bins?"
After some thought I have decided she may be on to something and they could put said bins by our lorry stops and lay- bys.
In reply to "proposed activities, financial plans....", one answer covers both, spending a penny!!

I take it this is the block referred to although havent heard it called East Cliff before...much further down is East Cliff isnt it?
the work is much further along buildingwise since the picture above was taken (I think we had this pic on the Sea News thread earlier ) but as you can see they have knocked a new opening in the structure ( white area) presumably for a retail outlet or something...plus loo.
Slightly oddball idea if I'm getting this right but you never know...it might work.
Will try and get a more up to date picture later when weather brightens up..if it brightens up

No sooner had I put up the latest bog standard picture of said conveniences yesterday when i noticed two women talking to the builders and going inside the building. Whoopee said i to myself..like ye do..they must have interest already. Two members of public, two striding entrepreneurs want to run it. Good, thought I.
However on closer inspection with zoom lens i realised it was none other than the 'Les Formidables' of the Town Council.
So I couldnt resist a bit of long distance paparazzi work and here we are..
one more to follow.. here we are..
yes its none other than the controversial Town Clerk herself Ms Burton holding cuddly ginormous dog
..with former Mayor Cllr Sue Jones. Lot of finger wagging going on there...

At last!! They are to unlock the voice of reason? Oh, and I must remember to buy some 'mints'.

I'm not sure that photographing ladies going into public conveniences is entirely honourable...

A very good opportunity for any good start up business looking for a low cost setup, hopefully wont impact upon other business already operating well on the seafront!

Couldnt resist this one showing the long arm of the law at the Seafront non-conveniences..
These officers, I am reliably informed, were sent down to hold the crowd back as rumour had it the queue was miles long with people a burstin and a manglin...
...no one told them the whole thing was on hold. Oh dear....:

oh well..
"They better open soon" says Constable Smith, "I dont think I can hold on much longer" Thats him on the left..
"Use the bush at the back of Millers, everyone else does" retorts Constable Jones

Two policemen walking in Dover I did not know we could raise two at the same time except in a car, maybe they were seconded from elsewhere and fancied a stroll along the seafront.
