Well, welcome to your new life, Guzzler! I think a lot of people come up to retirement with some trepidation, wondering how they are going to fill the time. However, it seems that once people have actually retired, quite a few wonder how they ever found time to go to work!
Now your life will be your own, to dictate the pace and the activities - master of your own destiny! As everyone here has said, there are a heap of voluntary things in which to be involved, all of which will keep you active and busy, and there are also no end of classes and courses to take to follow up on the interests you never had time for before. At the same time, as Vic says, you now, as Vic says, have time for outings and to be with your family, which is great.
For the Morris dancing - great fun! Think about Borders and North West as well as Cotswolds - very different styles, each with their own special appeal. There are also some very interpretative sides, each with their own take. Just for starters, have a look here
http://finder.morrisfed.org.uk/find.php, which, if you click on the map, will give you some contact details for morris sides near you, and also here
http://www.themorrisring.org/find-side, where if you zoom into the map and click on the balloons will give you info about others. Try looking up mummers ..."In come I ....!!" and hoodeners too.
Best of luck, and welcome to a new world.
(Happy Birthday, Gary!)
