Barry W-S, these are of-course very sad stories of the Napoleonic wars, but both the British and the French had POW camps,and prisoners were released-exchanged.
So the actual story has more to it.
I think many prisoners also died in these camps, from illness.

alex,yepers was compleatly flatend in ww1,it was rebuilt by useing paintings,sketchs and old photos,and thats not including other towns and citys that where caught up in the fighting.
