Low paid jobs, another unit which will only attract 'clientele' at night and contributing to deprivation diets. A town following the mistakes other towns took a decade ago and are now trying to reverse.

Totally disagree there, for a start the one in Canterbury is always busy and I am only there during the day. Not eaten in one myself but they are very popular with young people and as neither Folkestone or Deal have one It could bring in customers from outside of Dover.

Agreed Howard and they also have an extremely good staff training, apprenticeship and management training programme, with incremental, time served and achievement based pay scales.
As for the food it's not my bag but it looks pretty good from what I've seen.

I have been persuaded to go to the Canterbury one with my youngest and her husband a couple of times. The food is a bit on the spicy side but is good value.

A reminder that the Russell St car park closes finally at 5pm next Weds the 30th Sept. I have asked Tim Ingleton if they will be producing another update document as the current one is over 4 months old; I told one will be issued once the contractors have broken the back of the Burlington House demolition.
Looks like my old joke about the hoardings being built to last 30 years won't work any more.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Hadn't noticed this sign before but judging by the logo it must be the work of the Town Team.

Town Council Howard with Sue the Loo leading the charge. An improvement I think although several people have remarked that the arch at the seafront end, instead of saying Town Centre, should say Arbeit Macht Frei.

That was my first thought peter, moving on there sometimes seems a blurring of lines between the Town Team and the Town Council. The Bluebird logo here and when googling the Town Council the Town Team used to come up.
